Spider veins

Do those pigmented lesions on your face or décolletage bother you?
They will be gone in a flash with the KTP diode laser, also known as the Diolite!

Effects
The Varilite produces a very concentrated laser beam which is absorbed by the blood's red colour in the spider veins. A selective heating of the spider veins occurs. The laser releases its energy in a fraction of a second, just long enough to destroy the blood vessel and short enough so as not to damage the surrounding skin structures and epidermis. The body clears away the damaged vein in the weeks following the treatment. The Varilite has a 940 nanometre wavelength and works with a precision laser of 700 micron, resulting in the exclusive heating of the blood vessel.

Application
This method is very suitable for the small spider veins and for the blue veins on the nose. Injecting the small veins therefore becomes unnecessary and this laser can even remove the very smallest of veins, which wasn't possible with injecting. Everyone can be considered for the removal of spider veins. We would recommend you visit a dermatologist first in case of a disruption of the deep venous system (varicose veins). The area of skin which is going to be treated may not be tanned by a sun bed or the sun for a 4 week period prior to treatment. This would result in the pigment in the epidermis largely blocking the light, resulting in the blood vessels not being optimally reached. There are various causes for the appearance of these veins like heredity, pregnancy and standing professions.

What can you expect?
The treatment is completely safe and very effective. An average of 1 to 3 treatments is required for the veins to either disappear or drastically fade away. The desired result is usually achieved after 2 treatments. The result can't be predicted beforehand. In some cases it won't be possible to completely remove the veins. The treatments are usually very well tolerated; most people simply experience a slight tingling sensation.

After treatment
Varilite's skin friendliness means the skin is usually only a little red and sometimes somewhat swollen after the treatment. However, this is completely dependent on the skin type and the thickness of the veins and these reactions will often disappear very quickly; you can instantly resume your normal activities. You will need to be careful with sunshine during the first 2 weeks after the treatment and you shouldn't participate with fanatic sporting, visit a sauna or have a hot bath straight after the treatment. You will already be able to see the scabs below the skin / clotted dark blood within a few days of the treatment. The treated veins can therefore appear a bit more noticeable to start with. Your body will automatically remove this clotted blood, but this can take a few weeks. The veins can continue to fade/drain away for up to 6 months after the treatment.
