Lightsheer diode laser

Laser hair removal

Have you had enough of shaving, waxing and epilation?
Laser hair removal with the Lightsheer diode laser is the perfect solution!!!

How it works
The laser emits a highly concentrated light beam, which is absorbed by the pigment at the bottom of the follicle.
This results in selective heating of follicles deep beneath the skin. The laser releases its energy for a fraction of a second, just long enough to destroy the follicle and short enough to spare the surrounding tissues and epidermis. The unique, cooled tip of the Lightsheer diode laser offers additional protection of the skin by providing cooling at the time of energy release.

Applications
This method is ideal for the treatment of excessive hair growth on the face, the bikini line, armpits, legs, chest and back; in fact, offending hairs on every part of the body can be removed permanently, in women as well as men.
Unfortunately, grey, blonde and reddish hairs cannot be removed by laser, because there is no pigment in those hairs.

The area under treatment must not be sun- or sunbed-tanned. If it is, the light from the laser will largely be blocked by pigment in the epidermis, and will fail to reach the capillaries completely without burning the skin. Naturally dark skin types, on the other hand, can be treated perfectly well.

From four weeks prior to treatment and in between treatments, the area must not be epilated or waxed, because 'empty' follicles cannot be treated. Shaving, cutting or using hair removal cream does not pose any problems. Do keep in mind that on the day of the treatment, the hairs should be visible in order for the skin therapist to determine the skin type and configure the laser accordingly.

What can you expect?
Since hairs grow in different stages, several treatments – six on average – will be required to capture all the hairs and eliminate them permanently. Only hairs in the growth phase will be affected satisfactorily, because they are the ones with the pigment targeted by the laser.

The next treatment will be carried out only when a new batch of hairs cycles into the growth phase. This will be approximately after six weeks on the face and after two to three months on the body. The number of hairs growing back decreases with every treatment, and those that do are thinner and weaker. Eventually, all the hairs disappear permanently. Overall, treatment is tolerated well; in most cases, the patient merely experiences a slight stinging sensation. Because the Lightsheer diode laser is so skin-friendly, the only side effects observed after treatment are usually some redness and slight swelling. However, this is entirely dependent on the skin type and these reactions tend to disappear quickly; you can return to your regular business straight away.

Effectiveness
Permanent hair reduction can be expected after an average of six treatments. At that stage, remaining hairs are usually too thin and too lightly coloured to absorb laser light and they are also no longer considered obtrusive.

Why the Lightsheer diode laser?
This newly developed diode laser can remove unwanted hairs effectively and permanently in a fast, reliable and comfortable way.

The main advantages of the Lightsheer diode laser over other laser or light equipment:

  • The wavelength of this diode laser, 810 nanometres, ensures that the light reaches deep down into the follicles everywhere (as far down as the hair root!), allowing hairs deeper in the skin to be removed as well.
  • A relatively small amount of treatments is required.
  • Permanent hair removal instead of long-lasting/long-term hair removal.
  • Even dark-skinned patients can be treated with this laser.
