KTP diode laser

Before & after

Couperose

Do those red veins on your face or décolletage bother you?
They will be gone in a flash with the KTP diode laser!!!

How it works
The vascular laser emits a highly concentrated light beam, which is absorbed by the red colour of the blood in the broken capillaries. This results in selective heating of the capillaries. The laser releases its energy for a fraction of a second, just long enough to destroy the blood vessel and short enough to spare the surrounding tissues and epidermis. The KTP diode laser has a wavelength of 532 nanometres and uses a precision beam of 700 microns, which ensures that nothing but the capillaries are heated.

Applications
This method is ideal for the treatment of couperose (broken capillaries), telangiectasias (thread veins), and rosacea on the face or the décolletage area. The KTP diode laser can additionally be fitted with the Scanlite scanner, a special accessory for the elimination of diffuse redness. Strictly speaking, anyone is eligible for the removal of red veins. The area under treatment must not be sun- or sunbed-tanned. If it is, the light from the laser will largely be blocked by pigment in the epidermis, and will fail to reach the capillaries completely.

There are several causes for the development of these capillaries, such as ageing, excessive sunbathing, smoking, hereditary disposition, alcohol abuse and frequenting saunas.

What can you expect?
This treatment is perfectly safe and highly effective.
On average, 80% of the capillaries is eliminated after the first treatment. More often than not, repeat treatment is only required if the patient feels the remaining capillaries are obtrusive.
Overall, treatment is tolerated well; in most cases, the patient merely experiences a slight stinging sensation.

After treatment
Because the KTP diode laser is so skin-friendly, the only side effects observed after treatment are usually some redness and slight swelling. However, this is entirely dependent on the skin type and these reactions tend to disappear quickly; you can return to your regular business straight away.

If you wish, the skin therapist may camouflage your skin with Lycogel following treatment; in that case, no one will ever notice you just underwent treatment.

Sometimes small scabs can appear beneath the skin after a few days, but they always disappear quickly. As soon as the slight redness has evaporated, you will immediately notice a considerable improvement. The skin looks much more relaxed and homogeneous.
